Just like the DFW Metroplex, there are many facets to Downtown Dallas.
Although a specific geographical location, Downtown also refers to the many

outcasts, two of whom were responsible for the shooting deaths of Dallas
mayors Ben Long and J. M. Thurmond in 1877 and 1882 respectively. The late
1800's can also be enjoyed in Uptown's historical State Thomas neighborhood,
where a large collection of Victorian homes from that era still stand.
Today Uptown is populated by approximately 7,000 people, and has impressed
